What we do

Six services, in the order a house gets built

Most drywall crews hang and finish, then hand the rest to somebody else. Alvarez Drywall puts the insulation in, hangs the sheetrock, tapes and mudds it, textures it, paints it, and comes back for the repairs, so the finish matches the hang and nobody waits on a second crew.

Spray insulation going into a framed wall

Insulation

Walls and ceilings insulated before the sheetrock goes up — new homes, additions, and garages being turned into rooms.

Two-story great room with drywall hung and taped

Drywall Installation

Sheetrock hung on walls and ceilings — two-story great rooms, curved walls and staircases, coffered and tray ceilings.

Coffered ceiling finished and ready for paint

Drywall Finishing & Taping

Taping, mudding, corner bead and sanding to a smooth finish — high ceilings worked from scaffold and stilts.

Hallway being textured with a hopper gun

Wall & Ceiling Texture

Spray and hand textures on new walls and ceilings, and existing texture matched on every repair so the patch disappears.

Freshly painted room with a ladder

Interior Painting

Walls, ceilings, trim and doors painted after the finish — the same crew that hung and textured the room paints it.

Ceiling patch textured to match

Drywall Repair

Holes, cracks, water-stained and sagging sections on walls and ceilings — replaced, patched, textured and painted to blend.

Why Alvarez

One crew from the studs to the last coat

Juan runs Alvarez Drywall himself. Send a photo of the framing, the room or the damage by WhatsApp and he tells you what it needs and what it takes, then his crew does the whole job in order. No call center, no salesperson, no waiting on a second contractor for the texture or the paint.

Big rooms, tall walls

Two-story great rooms, curved staircases, coffered and tray ceilings, church halls. Scaffold, stilts and the patience to keep a long seam straight where the afternoon light hits it.

Texture that matches

San Antonio walls are textured, so a repair either matches or it shows. The crew that sprays new texture is the one that matches the old on a patch.

Builders and homeowners

A builder’s whole house on a schedule during the week, a family’s garage on Saturday, a shop’s dividing wall before it opens. New construction, remodels, commercial.

Español, and English by text

Juan works in Spanish. English-speaking homeowners and builders write on WhatsApp and get a clear reply by text, with a price. This page reads in both languages.

How it works

From a WhatsApp photo to a painted room

1

Send a photo

WhatsApp (210) 505-1842 with a picture of the framing, the room or the damage, and your city. A builder can send the plans or the room count.

2

No-obligation quote

Juan tells you what the job needs, which of the six services it takes, and gives you a clear price. Whole houses get a visit first.

3

Insulate, hang, finish, texture, paint

The steps go in order and each one dries before the next. The house stays clean as the work moves through it.

4

Walk-through

You look it over under the light before we call it done. Corners straight, texture even, paint finished, nothing left to fix.

South Texas reality

Clay, heat and texture do the damage here

Expansive clay over limestone that swells in a wet spring and shrinks in a dry August, long hot summers, and walls that are textured in almost every house. Every service on this site is shaped around what San Antonio actually does to a wall.

Cracks over doors and windows

The foundation moves with the soil and the drywall shows it first: a diagonal crack from a door corner, a ceiling seam that opens. Re-taped, floated, textured and painted so it reads as one wall again.

Texture is the standard

Orange peel, knockdown, hand-troweled: almost every house here has it. A patch that is not textured to match is a patch everyone can see.

Insulation before the heat

A garage or a bonus room without insulation is an oven by June. The insulation goes in first, then the sheetrock, then it is a room you can actually use.

New houses by the hundreds

Stone Oak, Alamo Ranch, New Braunfels, Schertz: subdivisions going up every month. Builders need a crew that keeps the schedule and delivers a paint-ready house, not a punch list.

Who does the work

Alvarez Drywall, run by Juan

Alvarez Drywall is Juan Alvarez’s business, based in San Antonio and working across the city and the Hill Country towns around it: New Braunfels, Schertz, Boerne, Helotes and the subdivisions in between. Twelve years in the trade, doing the whole inside of a wall in order: insulation, sheetrock, taping and finishing, texture, paint, and the repairs that come later when a house settles. Builders putting up whole houses, families finishing a garage or fixing a ceiling, churches and shops that need a wall built or patched. Every photo on this site is a job his crew did.

Write to (210) 505-1842 on WhatsApp, in Spanish or English, with a photo of what needs doing, and Juan answers with a clear, no-obligation quote.

Common questions

Straight answers

Does the quote cost anything?

No obligation. Send a photo and your city on WhatsApp and Juan gives you a clear price for the whole job. If it works, it goes on the calendar; if not, nothing lost.

Do you do the painting too, or just the drywall?

Both. The same crew that hangs, finishes and textures the room paints the inside of it, so there is no second contractor and no gap between the texture and the paint. Exterior painting is not part of the work.

Can you match the texture on a repair so it does not show?

That is the whole point of a repair here. Juan looks at the existing texture, patches the section, matches the pattern by spray or by hand, and paints it so the wall reads as one.

Do you take small repairs, or only whole houses?

Both. A crack over a door, a water stain on a ceiling, a hole from a doorknob. Small jobs are scheduled between the bigger ones, so ask.

Do you work with builders on new houses?

Yes, that is most of the work in the photos. Whole houses insulated, hung, finished, textured and painted on the builder’s schedule, with the next trade able to start the day it is done.

How long does the mud take to dry in the summer?

Heat helps, humidity hurts, and a closed-up house with no air moving slows it down. Each coat has to dry before the next. Juan gives you a real timeline for your job when he quotes it.

Which cities do you cover?

San Antonio is home base; New Braunfels, Schertz, Boerne and Helotes are regular. A little outside that? WhatsApp (210) 505-1842 and ask; Juan will tell you honestly if the crew can get to you.
